چکیده
The coastal and carbonate Mean Sea Level Aquifer (MSLA) of Malta is characterised by high anisotropy heterogeneity, which together make evaluating the aquifer system parameters a challenging task. In this paper, we present an approach for determination hydrogeological based on tidal-induced groundwater fluctuations that can be applied in other similar contexts. This work presents analysis data undertaken monitoring boreholes located MSLA exhibiting fluctuations. allowed us to determine values three main parameters: hydraulic diffusivity, transmissivity conductivity. These will subsequently used as input flow reactive transport modelling purposes. study, methodology fast Fourier transform (FFT) proposed improve applicability Jacob–Ferris method observed level sea FFT reproduced signals isolate component induced tides, thus eliminating short- long-term variations water table disruptive factors. Tidal groundwater level fluctuations in L-shaped leaky coastal aquifer system
This paper presents an analytical solution to describe tidal groundwater level fluctuations in a coastal leaky aquifer system bounded by water–land boundaries that form a right angle (referred to as L-shaped coastlines). The system consists of an unconfined aquifer, a confined aquifer and a leaky layer between them. Previously published analytical solutions that discuss only single aquifer cons...

This study investigates the feasibility of management of aquifer recharge (MAR) in Lebanon by designing well barriers to remove seawater intrusion from the fractured carbonate aquifers. Groundwater flow and saltwater/freshwater 50% sharp interface have been modeled along the coastal area using the Ghyben-Herzberg theory. The groundwater flow simulations have been supported by field transmissivi...

Ground waters are considered as substantial water resources in many parts of the world especially in arid and semi-arid area such as Iran. The population growth, the intensive use ofsurface water and groundwater resources has often affected ground water levels. To meeting water management objectives it is essential to have a comprehensive study on the aquifer recharge and ground water withdrawa...

The Tamarack State Wildlife Area in eastern Colorado is being investigated as a possible managed recharge project to redirect flows in the South Platte River for water quantity management. Two primary surface water/groundwater interactions exist at Tamarack: (1) between the South Platte River and alluvial aquifer and (2) between backwater sloughs, or secondary river channels, and the alluvial a...
